Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Aria · אריאה (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a shared newborn and baby tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is stored and synced through Firebase, how family sharing works, what advertising partners may collect, and your choices. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. Who we are
Aria is a technology product based in Israel, founded by Liron Shiryon. For privacy questions or requests, contact aria@lirshir.com.
3. Account and sign-in
To use cloud sync and family sharing, you create an account. You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. When you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive basic profile information from that provider (such as your name and email address) to create and maintain your Aria account. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
Your account identifier links your devices and family memberships. You can delete your account in the app; see Section 10 for retention details.
4. What we store in the cloud
Baby and family data is stored in Google Firebase, primarily in Cloud Firestore, so caregivers on different devices see the same live timeline. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- Baby profile: name or nickname, date of birth, and optional notes you enter
- Care events: feeding (bottle and breastfeeding), sleep, diapers, pumping, medicine, growth measurements, temperature, and general notes — each with timestamps, duration where relevant, and which caregiver logged the event
- Family and membership: family name, member display names, roles, and links between accounts and babies
- App settings: preferences needed for sync (such as theme and reminder settings tied to your account)
- Support-related data: information you send us by email
The app also keeps a local copy on your device so you can log offline; changes sync to Firestore when you are back online.
5. Family sharing and invite codes
Aria lets you create a family and invite other caregivers with a short invite code. When someone joins using your code, they become a member of that family and can view and log events for the babies linked to that family, according to the permissions the app provides.
Important: Only share invite codes with people you trust to see and add baby care information. Anyone who joins your family can access the shared timeline for babies in that family. You are responsible for managing who you invite and removing members when access should end.
Invite codes are generated and validated through our backend; we store which accounts belong to which family so sync works correctly.
6. Advertising and device data
The app is free and shows a bottom banner through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource mediation). Ads may be served by LevelPlay and mediated networks we enable, currently including ironSource and Unity Ads. Advertising is separate from your baby tracking data. To serve, measure, and limit ads, these providers and related partners may collect or use:
- Device identifiers and advertising IDs
- Approximate location (as disclosed on Google Play Data safety)
- App activity related to ads (for example impressions and clicks)
- IP address and similar technical data sent over the network
Your baby events and family data are not sold to advertisers. Ad infrastructure still processes device and ad identifiers independently of Firestore. See Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy (covers LevelPlay and Unity Ads) and the ironSource Privacy Policy.
On iOS, the app may request App Tracking Transparency permission. You can refuse tracking and still use Aria.
7. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide baby tracking, timelines, insights, doctor summary export, and reminders.
- Sync data across your devices and with invited family members.
- Authenticate you and maintain your account.
- Display a bottom banner ad that funds the free app.
- Respond to support requests you send to our email.
- Improve reliability, security, and the product.
- Meet legal obligations.
8. Permissions
The app may request:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet | Cloud sync, sign-in, and loading advertisements |
| Notifications | Local feeding and care reminders you enable |
| Photos / media (optional) | Attach a photo to a note or export a doctor summary, if you choose |
| Biometrics (optional) | Optional app lock on supported devices |
You can deny optional permissions in device settings; some features may not work without them.
9. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with service providers needed to run the app, sync, auth, ads, and this website:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication) | Account sign-in, cloud database, and real-time sync for families |
| Google / Apple | Third-party sign-in (Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple) |
| Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) | Ad mediation, in-app advertising, and measurement |
| Unity Ads | Mediated ad network (served via LevelPlay) |
| Apple / Google | App store distribution, device services, optional tracking prompts |
Firebase processes baby and account data under Google’s Firebase Privacy Policy. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell baby data or personal information to data brokers.
Other family members: Caregivers you invite can see shared baby events within your family. That sharing is a core feature of the app, not a sale to third parties.
10. Data retention
- Cloud baby and family data: Kept while your account and family exist. You can delete individual events in the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and disassociates you from families; remaining family data may persist for other members until they delete it or the family is removed.
- Local device data: Until you clear app data or uninstall.
- Advertising identifiers: Retained by Unity LevelPlay, mediated networks (including ironSource and Unity Ads), and partners per their policies.
- Support email: Kept as long as needed to answer you, then deleted in the ordinary course.
11. Security
Data in transit uses encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Firebase access is protected by authentication and security rules that limit reads and writes to authorized family members. Optional app lock can require biometrics to open Aria on your device. No method is 100% secure; use a strong password, keep your device updated, and only share invite codes with trusted people.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
- Export your data (including doctor summary export in the app).
- Delete your account in app settings or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (including ad tracking).
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, email aria@lirshir.com.
Ads: Limit ad tracking in device settings (for example “Limit Ad Tracking” / App Tracking on iOS, or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android).
Family access: Remove caregivers from your family or rotate invite codes if someone should no longer have access.
13. Children’s privacy
Aria is used by parents and caregivers to log information about babies and young children. The app is intended for adult account holders, not for direct use by children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country).
Baby profile and event data is entered by caregivers on behalf of the child. We process that information to provide the tracking and sync service. If you believe a child has created an account or we have collected personal information from a child in error, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
14. International transfers
Firebase and advertising partners may process data in countries where they operate, including the United States and the European Union, under their terms and safeguards.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
